Since 1975, Catholic Charities Refugee &
Immigration Services (formerly Refugee Resettlement) has provided comprehensive social services to refugees. Reception and Placement services
staff coordinate new arrivals with the
United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and address meeting the basic needs of new refugee arrivals during their first three to six months in the United States. Reception and Placement activities include airport reception, locating and furnishing housing, health screening, introduction to other social service resources such as food stamps, the social security office and school for children and adults. Successful reception and placement is dependent on partnerships with other community resources such as parishes, community organizations and volunteers. Community support is key to a positive resettlement experience for new arrivals.
Reception and Placement Services are funded by United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops.
