Refugee & Immigration Services was founded in 1975 in response to the large influx of refugees from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Refugee Services now resettles people from all over the globe - including Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

Having fled their homelands because of war and often living in refugee camps for years, refugees arrive with a burning desire for the freedom that is the promise of America.  Our goal is to help refugees become self-sufficient.

Beginning New Lives
A skilled machinist from Ethiopia, a Vietnamese restaurant owner, a Bosnian engineer - the men, women and children served by Refugee & Immigration Services come from all walks of life and all socio-economic backgrounds. Many have overcome tremendous obstacles to gain freedom - some escaping their countries with little more than their lives, forced to leave behind spouses, children and parents.

A Helping Hand
Starting over is never easy, especially in a new country. Our goal is to provide refugees the support they need in order to become self-sufficient, contributing members of our community. The program provides a broad range of services to assist these newcomers in their transition.

Refugees, asylees, and entrants are eligible for all USCCB and state funded services. All immigrants, regardless of their status, are eligible for Immigration Services. In addition, all immigrant women, regardless of their status, are eligible for services from the International Women's Resources Center.
