OUR HISTORY
Catholic Charities began
providing employment services in the Memphis area in 1975, as part of the
refugee resettlement effort in response to the end of the war in southeast
Asia. Since then, this service has expanded to include clients from
Homeless Services in
addition to refugees.
WHY US?
The central goal of
financial independence for our clients is the heart of our employment program. We have been offering our free
services to the Memphis business community for over 25 years, and we have
developed an excellent working relationship with over 300 employers during
this time. We specialize in working closely with both the employer
and the employee, before and after hiring. We want to
place our clients in jobs where they will succeed. And we build close partnerships with employers to help make this happen.
We conduct an extensive
intake and assessment for each individual who seeks our assistance in
gaining employment. Aptitude and physical limitations are assessed,
and transportation issues are worked out.
All our clients attend Job
Readiness Skills Training. Classes include topics such as the job
market in Memphis, work habits and employer expectations, conflict
resolution, stress management, how to dress on the job, interviewing
skills, writing a resume´. Phone
